Preparation: Bring laboratory results for kidneys and thyroid (creatinine, BUN, TSH) – may not be older than 4 weeks!
EXCEPTION: in cases of acute suspicion of deep leg vein thrombosis
If you suffer from diabetes and take tablets for this (oral antidiabetics), we ask that you stop taking these the day before the examination (until the examination is over), as many medications may not be administered with contrast medium.
All other medications are unaffected.
- The contrast medium is injected intravenously into a vein in the arch of the foot.
- Images are then made of the venous system in the lower leg, thigh and pelvis.
In order to ensure safe administration of the contrast medium, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire.
